First Christmas Card for 2012

Hi Bloggers,

Over at Sassy Studio Designs they have a challenge at the end of each month that is to make a christmas card so that by the time the end of year comes around you have quite a few cards all ready to go.

I made this card using a Sassy Studio Designs 'Snow White' image and coloured her red and green to go with the traditional Christmas colours.

Valentines Gift

Thought I would share with you a box I made recently for my husband for Valentines Day. We don't normally do anything much for Valentines Day but this year the preschool where one of our children attends offered free babysitting for the night, yay I say, so we decided to put our names down and went to the movies Gold Class Style to see 'The Vow'. It was a lovely night. I filled the box with gold wrapped mint chocolates, perfect for eating during the movie only thing is I forgot to bring my gift with me, woopsie.

Here is the gift box I made from a template found on Splitcoast Stampers.

Hi bloggers,

Today I have a card made using the sweet little honey 'Little Red Riding Hood' image which you can purchase from Sassy Studio Designs here. The owl and sentiment is from Stampin Up. I stamped the background using a woodgrain stamp from Papertrey Ink using Versamark Ink. The leaves are a die cut and I cut the branch out myself (can't you tell). The grass is a Martha Stewart punch along with the top corners.

Hi Bloggers,

Well after a week of nothing but rain we were planned to go to a Day on the Green concert (held at wineries, this one in Bowral, NSW) starring Hall and Oates and Icehouse and unfortunately I found out last night it has been cancelled due to the weather, as it is an outdoor event. Huge bummer... although not all bad, I managed to get tickets to see them at the Entertainment Centre for next week and we are still going to use our accommodation and have a good weekend away without the kids.

I have been busy making cards and found this Sassy iimage that I hadn't coloured yet. I am also going to enter into the monthly challenge on Sassy Studio Designs which is to appear as a guest designer for the month of March. I have loads of gorgeous images from Sassy Studio Designs, they are all very cute and sexy. Please see my firewoman card from the other day.

Where did I find this image, you might ask ... well I downloaded this digi image about a year ago as a freebie and its the first time I've used it. Afer a little looking around thinking the design looked like a meljen design... I was right here is where you can find this image and good news - it is still a freebie: Meljens Designs.

It's been a while since my last post. I've enjoyed some family time with some holidays to Canberra and the Gold Coast as well as Christmas and New Years.

Getting back into the blog scene I made this card the other day and found a challenge going over at Scrapbook Boutique which I thought matched it perfectly. One of the cupcakes in the inspiration photo matches the rose in the ballerina's hair perfectly.

Well I have been very busy lately doing preparations for my daughter Peri's 3rd birthday party. She wanted a Ballerina party and loves Angelina Ballerina. Well there is no party items in Australia that I could find on Angelina so with all this craft stuff lying around I thought I could come up with something and here it is...

the cake I did all including leaves but bought the roses. I added a cupcake under Angelina to give a ballerina music box effect.

Fairy Floss bought from Target in tubs for $2.00.

Cucpakes - I made the butterflies using a cake punch that cuts and embosses.

and last but not least the lolly bags. I bought a single cupcake box from the Cake shop and wrapped it with tule and decorated the top with thank you messages.

Here is me and the birthday girl... she is sporting a black eye due to running into her door knob early one morning.

The family shot, with Peri wearing one of her new Jumpers, she got 3 in total and tried all 3 on one after the other. Not sure what my son Aaron is doing in this one... saying 'cheese' clearly!

Happy Mothers' Day to all those Mothers out there. Sydney put on some beautiful weather to help celebrate this wonderful occassion. I got some lovely gifts and was very spoilt.

I made this card earlier and thought it ties in well for this weeks challenge over at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge blog which is 'Let's Go Retro'.

Here is a pic of the cake I made for Aaron for his 5th birthday. It took about 1.5 hours to pipe the icing.

Mothers Day Gift

Hi all,

I thought I'd share with you my Mothers' Day gifts this year to my mum and Mother In Law. I bought a 5 hold Cupcake Box from a local cake decorating shop for 50 cents (how cheap is that) and then added my mothers day card to the top of it. Made some cupcakes and piped some icing on top and added ribbon around the box to keep it closed.

I came across a new site called Graphicat Designs who sell some really funny sentiments. They have a new monthly sketch challenge so I thought I would have a go.

Hi Bloggers,

I was lucky enough to be accepted as a guest designer for The Stamping Bazaar whose gorgeous images have been designed by the ever so talented Marina Neira. I thought I would give the cute Susie with Pie a go and seeing as Australia Day is coming up (26 January) I thought I would relate the card to that day.

For this card I used the gorgeous Susie with Pie image which is available here.

For the tic tac box I used the sweet looking Bikkie the Platypus which is available here. I coloured him blue with copics (B93,95,97) and left the rest for a different look. Sponged distressed ranger denim ink around the edges.

Hope everyone is well. I've had a busy couple of days with my children having their cousin over for their first sleep over ever and we have had lots of fun and tantrums. We are making cards at the moment which I will post later on.

I wanted to try something different with some colours I don't normally use. The image is a giraffe freebie found here at GTC's Crafty Corner which I found through Free Digital Stamps. The sentiment I made myself. I coloured the image using Copics. Walnut Stain Distress around nestabilities. Gingham print is kindly offered from the gorgeous All Things I Love Blog.

Hi Bloggers,

All the hot weather has gone and we have a rather overcast day today here in Sydney. Still its Friday... YAY! Not long till Christmas now. I have two parties this weekend including our family christmas party which is always loads of fun but also very tiring.

I made this card for my parents to go with a 2011 Calendar I've had done for them with pictures of the whole family throughout the 2010 year. I used sparkly fluff on the bottom of the image and dots to make it look like the snow is falling. Circular sentiment is Magnolia and the other is a Stampin Up. Image is Penny Johnson coloured with Copics.

Jewellery Box

Hi Bloggers,

I thought I'd share with you a special project I made for a neice of mine. I had seen tutorials on how to do a jewellery easel box and couldn't wait to try it. I have used a Sassy Studios Designs (Sleeping Beauty) image and coloured her with Copics. The paper is from Papermania Garden Rose and decorated with flowers and ribbon. The sentiment is from Cinderella. I filled the drawer with hair clips and a headband.

I originally did the box with a different image as seen below.

Preschool Teachers Gift

Hi Bloggers,

Today has been a terribly hot day in Sydney, we visited the Museum of Fire in Penrith, the kids loved seeing all the big Fire Engines.

I thought I'd post a picture of one of my teachers gifts to Aaron's Preschool teachers. I thought the paper matched the stamped image (Honey CC Designs) perfectly. I also got to use my new apple spellbinders. The template is a 'box in a bag' from the Split Coast Stampers website and I made this a little larger to fit more yummy treats inside.

Hi All,

After my Copic Certification Class I went through all my copic things and sorted them out and found I have quite a lot of stamped images that have never been coloured so I worked on this card last night to match the challenge over at The Stamping Bazaar which is a sketch using one of their images. I am also entering this card into the challenge over at The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge which is season and so I'm thinking this card looks spring like with the flowers. The card itself is smaller than my usual 14 x 14 size instead I went for 11 x 12 as I also tried to use some old scrap pieces I had lying around.

I made this card for my cousins little girl turning 7 soon. I've used a cute Sarah Kay stamp, coloured with copics and Stampin Up Sentiment. Butterfly punch and nestabilities. Spica Clear pen through her hair... which I think you can see in second pic.

The latest Magnolia Magazine contains a wonderful template of a teacup by April. So on this wet miserable beginning of a long weekend day in Sydney I made it my mission to make this teapot card.

To make this card I have used:

pink flowersoft, magnolia tilda with flowers stamp, magnolia teacup stamp, Copics, Pearls, Acetate with Stickles for steam and highlight, Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edge Punch, Faux Stitching (Paper piercing), Rose Garden Papermania Paper and sentiment.

I will enter this card into the challenge over at Just Magnolia - Anything Goes theme.

Santas on his way

I made this christmas card to try out the new tree stamp I bought recently.

I embossed the tree and put stickles Ice onto it. I punched small circles out of red cardstock and drew white lines for the theme at http://thelollipopladies.blogspot.com/2010/09/challenge-5-candy-stripes-for-christmas.html. I used the Santa is coming to town stamp from Magnolia range and 'a very merry christmas to you' from Stampin Up . I also used my new pillow box template from Stampin Up and Noel stamp from Magnolia Range.

I will also enter this card into the challenge over at Creative Inspirations where the theme is Christmas in September.

1 Year Old Birthday Card

I made this card for a friends first birthday. I used a sweet treat cup from Stampin Up which I added water to, along with sentiment. Seal image is from The Greeting Farm.

Boy am I glad I took a photo as the water has just started leaking... note to self... use stronger adhesive! Now to make another card!

I'm going to enter this into the challenge over at Mad for Markers - digi image.

Well I've been a busy little bee with my classes for Fantasia, leaving me little time to make cards for myself. A friends birthday came up and this is what I came up with. I also made a tic tac box as a small side gift. I have used Spring Tilda along with Spring Fence from the Magnolia Range Stamps, p/p from Honey and Hugs Collection (Docrafts), saying from Stampin Up and Martha Stewart Pansy Punch.

Well this is my first ATC (Artist Trading Card) which I made for the Mad for Markers Blog. Believe it or not the size of the card is 2.5" x 3.5". I thought this would be a fun exercise and it was. I used my crimper for the first time and love the effect it gave.

Time for another card. I just love making them. A friend of mines son is turning 3 so I decided to use my new Edwin pirate stamp and make him an easel card and low and behold there is a challenge involving pirates as the theme over at Simon Says Challenge so I am entering it into that. I showed my son and he loved the coins!

I made this joy fold card for a male friend of mine whose birthday is coming up. It fits in with the challenges over at Making it with Meslyn (Joy Fold Card) and My Partner in Crafting Crime (Show pa pa some love).

I used copic markers to colour the image along with some clear spica pen on her hair which you can see in the below image. Lips and wording were done on computer.

My mother asked me to do up a card for her friends birthday and to match the toilery bag she was giving her... so I used the two step bird punch from Stampin Up and some embellishments. I think it matches pretty good. I hope she likes it.

Well over at Bizzy Becs Store Challenge this month the theme is 'Winter' with a choice of 2 sketches... winter I found a little challenging with limited stamps relating to winter... so I printed out a colouring page of a Bratz doll which was wearing a cute winter outfit. I coloured the Bratz doll, lace and paper flowers with copics and stitched around the picture. I put a little note saying what winter means to me and that is...

Winter is... hot chocolate with toasted marshmallows by an open fire.

Over at Mad for Markers Blog Challenge its colour something other than paper with copic markers... so I have stamped this image onto my daughters plain white t shirt and coloured it in... it ran a little but she loves it! I used a c.c design stamp (Cupcake Kiki).

I made this card using the first ever image I have coloured in using Copic Markers. As I was shown by Samantha from Mad for Markers how to do the feathering technique in her first copic class. I am going to enter this into her challenge on feathering.

I went to my first Copic Marker class last night and loved it. Samantha over at Mad for Markers held the class. Here is my first 3 creations using Copic Markers. I think I will be using these on my cards - once I purchase some ... they just look awesome if I do say so myself! I love the depth they give your stamps. I went as little crazy with the white gel pen though tee hee.

Shabby Chic Bird House

Today I have made a quaint shabby chic birdhouse. I used my new two step bird punch from Stampin Up along with papers from Papermania (Rose Garden). The template for the milk carton I got from another blog page.

Template is as follows:

Cardstock cut to 6" x 83/4". With the rectangle shaped cardstock facing lengthways score at 2", 4", 6" and 8". Turn the paper the other way so it is an upright rectangle shape and score at 1" and 4". Cut between creases at bottom edge the 1" section at each 2,4,6,8 scored mark for the base of the milk carton. Now you can decorate your box.

as I didn't take photos during the making of this milk carton I will do so next time for a more clearer template instruction.
